Seasonal highlights featuring pumpkin - Straight from vibrant metropolises: fruity dairy drink trends with colorful abstract patterns
HEIDELBERG-EPPELHEIM, December 3, 2019 – At the FIE trade show in Paris, Archer Daniels Midland Company (NYSE: ADM) will be presenting appealing concepts for seasonal highlights and adaptations of the latest metropolitan trends. Dairy is one of the most traditional segments of the food and beverage industry. However, long-term customer loyalty can only be ensured through innovative product developments. The consumer habits of millennials are currently driving the biggest trends and product ideas tailored to their tastes are the key to growth in the industry.
Millennials – inquisitive with high expectations
At FIE, ADM is presenting brand new dairy concepts that allow manufacturers to quickly position themselves on the market with unique products designed to meet high expectations. “Millennials are the customers who set the pace,” says Robin Redelin, Product Management Dairy EMEAI, ADM Human Nutrition. “They are on the cutting edge, following international trends online which they are eager to rediscover in their own shopping carts.” High in protein, natural, functional, time-saving, ethical, and wrapped in an authentic story: these are highly valued characteristics – always in conjunction with excellent taste – that should come together as a complete package in new product ideas. “Our product developers have many years of application expertise and know-how in efficiently balancing different ingredients and creating market-ready product ideas,” says Redelin.
Metropolitan style: double layer yogurt drinks with colorful abstract patterns
“Millennials love to taste and share exciting, authentic foods,” says Redelin. With this in mind, ADM developers have now succeeded in creating innovative dairy concepts that draw on the metropolitan trend of layered drinks. The two layers create beautiful, unique patterns upon shaking. These current developments are characterized by double layers, unique colors, and catchy flavors like mango-turmeric or blueberry. “They stand for fun on all sensory levels with a playful natural taste as well as the beautiful color effect when mixing,” says Redelin. “And they create a new and individual experience worth sharing on social media.”
Seasonal highlights: pumpkin spice
Long popular in the US, pumpkin spice has now made its worldwide breakthrough thanks to the success of global coffee chains. “As a typical indulgent coffeeshop flavor, pumpkin spice now also presents a great opportunity to diversify the dairy portfolio and is perfect for the winter season,” says Redelin. Additionally the pumpkin spice flavor combination of pumpkin, ginger & cinnamon perfectly complements yogurts, yogurt drinks, and ph-neutral desserts. At FIE, visitors can sample an indulgent pumpkin spice yogurt and experience a brand-new taste within the dairy segment.
Visitors to FIE are invited to taste and learn more about the new developments mentioned above as well as further creations such as ayran concepts or passion fruit preparations. Visit ADM in hall 6, stand 6B70.
