ADM Milling Celebrates Recent Safety Accomplishments

2019/5/6

CHICAGO, May 6, 2019—ADM Milling was recently recognized by two professional milling and baking industry associations for its strong safety record in 2018.

The American Bakers Association recently honored 42 ADM milling locations after the business as a whole recorded a DART (Days Away Restricted or Transferred) rate of .40 and a TCIR (Total Case Incident Rate) of only .80 for the year. The ABA established its Safety Recognition Program in 2016 as a way to recognize individual member company sites that excel in safety while increasing workplace safety awareness and emphasizing the importance of employee safety in the baking industry.

In addition, the International Association of Operative Millers honored ADM after 35 milling locations, representing more than 1,500 employees, completed 2018 without a single recordable safety incident. This is a new all-time milestone for ADM Milling.

“These achievements are a direct reflection of the importance ADM and each individual employee places on safety each day,” said Kevin Like, vice president, commercial and sales, ADM Milling. “Safety is ingrained as a critical part of our culture, and we understand that it has to be the top priority in everything we do. We are honored by this recognition and proud of the progress we continue to make on our safety journey as a company.”

ADM Milling is one of the world’s largest flour millers with multiple wheat flour mills in the U.S. as well Canada, the Caribbean, Central America and the United Kingdom.
