ADM Commemorates 85 Years on the New York Stock Exchange

DECATUR, Ill.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Archer Daniels Midland Company (NYSE: ADM) Chairman, CEO and President Patricia A. Woertz today rang the closing bell at the New York Stock Exchange to commemorate the 85th anniversary of the Company’s NYSE listing. ADM began trading on the New York Stock Exchange on December 24, 1924.
Joining Woertz were Steve Mills, executive vice president and chief financial officer; John Rice, executive vice president, Commercial and Production; Dwight Grimestad, vice president, Investor Relations; Victoria Podesta, vice president, Corporate Communications; and Kris Lutt, advisor, Office of the Chairman.

In 1902, John W. Daniels formed the Daniels Linseed Company to produce linseed oil. George A. Archer joined the Company the following year, and in 1905, the Company name was changed to the Archer Daniels Linseed Company. After a merger with Midland Linseed Products Company in 1923, Archer Daniels Midland Company became the world’s largest producer of linseed oil.
Today, ADM is one of the world’s largest agricultural processors. Each day, ADM processes 3.5 million bushels of soybeans, canola, sunflower and other oilseeds; two million bushels of corn; and one million bushels of wheat.
