ADM Donates $25,000 to Leonard J. Chabert Medical Center Foundation

WAGGAMAN, La., March 10, 2014– Archer Daniels Midland Company (NYSE: ADM) has donated $25,000 to the Leonard J. Chabert Medical Center Foundation, the Houma-based charitable-support foundation for the local hospital. The donation will help support the charitable, educational and scientific needs of the LJC Medical Center.“ADM strives to make a positive difference in the communities where we live and work,” said Jason Porter, general manager of Gulf operations for American River Transportation Company (ARTCO), which is a wholly owned subsidiary of ADM. “We are proud to present a donation to Chabert Medical Center Foundation, and look forward to seeing our contribution help the men and women of Chabert continue to make a difference in our local community.”

The donation was given through ADM Cares. ADM Cares is a social investment program that directs funds to initiatives and organizations that drive meaningful social, economic and environmental progress worldwide. The program comprises three distinct focus areas: supporting the responsible development of agriculture, improving the quality of life in ADM communities, and fostering employee giving and volunteer activities.

About ADM/ARTCO in Louisiana

ADM’s operations in Louisiana involve agricultural processing and transportation and logistics, as the company sources crops and secures energy and transportation needs throughout the state. ADM’s river operations are operate d by American River Transportation Company, a wholly-owned subsidiary of ADM. ARTCO’s Waggaman-based Gulf operations currently include 20 harbor and fleet vessels, a full-service shipyard, a barge washing and repair facility, and a stevedoring operation. ADM employs approximately 500 employees in the south Louisiana port system.
