Ray Preiksaitis, Group Vice President-IT to Retire; Steve Mills Assumes Additional Responsibility; Gary Mruz Named Senior Operations Officer-IT

Archer Daniels Midland Company said that Ray Preiksaitis, Group Vice President-Information Technology (IT) has announced his retirement. Effective immediately, Steve Mills, Senior Vice President-Strategic Planning will assume responsibility for IT. Gary Mruz has been named Senior Operations Officer-IT and will run day-to-day IT operations, reporting to Mills. Preiksaitis will be working closely with Mills and Mruz on an orderly transition.

“Over the course of his 25 year career with ADM, Ray Preiksaitis has developed and expanded ADM’s technical capabilities thereby enhancing the effectiveness of our Company and improving our ability to compete in a changing industry,” said ADM Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Patricia Woertz.

“Steve Mills will bring strong leadership to our next phase of IT development,” Woertz said. “His depth of experience in finance and new role in strategic planning will help ensure we leverage our IT efforts as we build our global leadership in BioEnergy.” Commenting on Mruz’s new appointment, Steve Mills said, “I’ve worked with Gary for many years and I have the highest respect for his IT leadership and values.”

Preiksaitis joined ADM in 1982 as the Corporate Director-Management Information Systems (MIS). He was named Vice President of Corporate MIS in 1988. In 1997, he was named Group Vice President-IT.

Mruz began his career with ADM in 1983 as a computer programmer. His responsibilities increased over the years and in 1993 he was promoted to Manager-Technical Support. In 2000, he was named Director-Technical Systems and since 2003 he has served as Senior Director-IT Operations/Technical Systems.
