ADM Invested $264,000 to Support Community Efforts in Columbus

COLUMBUS, Neb., Feb. 5, 2015 – During 2014, Archer Daniels Midland Company (NYSE: ADM) contributed grants totaling more than $264,000 to more than 28 Columbus-area organizations and programs.“ADM has 425 employees in Columbus, and we want to do our part to help ensure Columbus remains a great place to live and work,” said Steve Dewald, plant manager for ADM’s corn processing facility in Columbus.

ADM contributed $180,000 to Columbus Quality of Life Community projects, including: the YMCA/Wellness Facility, the STEM Academy, the Good Neighbor Community Health Center and the Columbus Family Resource Center.

The grants were given through ADM Cares. ADM Cares is a social investment program that directs funds to initiatives and organizations that drive meaningful social, economic and environmental progress worldwide. The program comprises three distinct focus areas: supporting the responsible development of agriculture, improving the quality of life in ADM communities and fostering employee giving and volunteer activities.

ADM began operations in Columbus when it acquired a corn wet mill from Minnesota Corn Processors, LLC, in 2002. Today, ADM operates a corn dry mill, corn wet mill, cogeneration facility and an ADM Alliance Nutrition feed processing facility in the Columbus area. The corn processing operations connect the harvest to the home by transforming corn into food ingredients, fuels and animal feed products that are used every day by people around the world.
