Martin Schoenthaler to Join ADM as Chief Information Officer

DECATUR, Ill.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Archer Daniels Midland Company (NYSE: ADM) today announced that Martin Schoenthaler will join the company as chief information officer on Jan. 1, 2012. He will report to Ray Young, senior vice president and chief financial officer. Schoenthaler comes to ADM from ConocoPhillips Corporation where he most recently served as general manager, Corporate Information Technology.

About Schoenthaler

Schoenthaler joins ADM from ConocoPhillips Corporation where he served as general manager for corporate information technology. Prior to that, he served as general manager of information services and of upstream global information services. While at ConocoPhillips, Schoenthaler led the successful integration of the Conoco and Phillips Petroleum systems for the Exploration and Production businesses, and the integration of assets of Burlington Resources Company into ConocoPhillips. Earlier in his career, he worked for IBM Corporation for 16 years in a variety of roles.

Schoenthaler holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Arkansas and a Bachelor of Science degree from Missouri Southern State University.
