The Commodities Innovation Awards is a competition of excellence that recognizes outstanding achievements in the commodities trading industry. From technological breakthroughs to innovative business models and forward-thinking management strategies, the Commodities Innovation Awards highlight initiatives that are redefining the future of the industry, with the support of institutional partners.

ADM is a leader in regenerative agriculture, which is helping rebuild and maintain soil health while supporting farmers' livelihoods and legacies. Candy Siekmann, Director of EMEA Climate Smart Ag Origination, ADM said, "ADM introduced its regenerative agriculture program in Europe in 2023, starting in the UK and Poland. It’s great for the initiative to be selected as a Commodities Innovation Award winner after just the first year and I am delighted that the program has been recognized for driving positive impact within the food supply chain to support a growing population."

Allie Hesketh, Climate Smart Ag Country Coordinator said, "ADM is delighted that the regenerative agriculture programs have been recognized. Each program is tailored to the country in which it operates and aims to support actions on the ground that help support key environmental impact areas including carbon footprint, biodiversity, supply chain resilience, and soil health. The use of reporting metrics such as greenhouse gas emissions, average carbon sequestration, and nitrogen use efficiency, help ADM's customers support their sustainability targets and support farmers with continuous improvement on their farms."

What is Regenerative Agriculture?
ADM defines regenerative agriculture as an outcome-based farming approach that protects and improves soil health, biodiversity, climate and water resources while supporting farming business development. Regenerative agriculture is adaptive to local physical conditions and culture, and is based on five principles of land management: minimizing soil disturbance, maintaining living roots in soil, continuously covering bare soil, maximizing diversity with an emphasis on crops, soil microbes, and pollinators, responsibly managing inputs, including nutrients and pesticides.

In 2023, ADM delivered more than 2.8 million regenerative agriculture acres, on our way to a goal of 5 million acres by 2025.
